Lisa studied painting and drawing at the Ottawa School of Art and enrolled in the Fine Arts Studio program at the University of Guelph in 1992. In 1992, she was among the winners of the U of Guelph Juried Art Show and graduated with a B.A. Honours in Studio Art in 1994. In 1999, she received a B.Ed. from UBC and since then has taught visual art, photography and well as being a practising artist.
